Master Custodian

By shellyhuey | Uncategorized , Victory Update

My first day as a high school teacher in the inner city was RATHER OVERWHELMING.

It was a blur of brief introductions.  And a long list of rules and procedures.

The principal, dean of students and science department head made sure that I knew WHERE TO GO and WHAT TO DO.   One teacher took me aside and whispered “get to know the head custodian, you will want to make him your best friend.”

When I asked why, he flatly said “trust me, he runs this place”.

It was the only statement I remember from that day 20 years ago.

I took HIS ADVICE.  So, I got to know Jesse.  He knew all the teachers.  Personally.  And he knew almost all of the kids.  Anything that went on at the school, Jesse knew about it.  Jesse was CONNECTED and INVOLVED.  He was the boots on the ground.  Jesse had the ALL of the KEYS to every door.  He could open anything that was locked.  His cart was filled with every tool and cleaner under the sun.  He tightened screws on broken chairs. Replaced burned out bulbs. Painted over well-marked walls. Stopped incessantly dripping sinks.  Scooped up innumerable messes ranging from vomit to piles of trash.  I saw ultimate transformation. Every day.

I asked him questions about what he did.

Pretty much everyone else ignored him.

I saw MANY things that he did and never got credit or mentioned for.

I really wanted to know what made him tick.  He took pride in the school.

And it showed by his work.  I asked him one day what “fueled his fire”, he said

“This place LOOKS the way it does, because of me”.

Forgive us God, that We the Church have allowed the communities that we live in “LOOK” the way they do, because of our DISCONNECTED and NON INVOLVED mindset.  And so our impact is seldom felt in schools, business, government, media, military and even our own families.

Forgive us God, that We the Church see serving Jesus as a long list of rules and procedures.  Our history of lasting serving commitments has become a blur of brief introductions.  And makes the concept of serving outside of our comfort zone seem RATHER OVERWHELMING.

Forgive us God, that We the Church see the MANY things that YOU do, and never give YOU credit or glory for it.  We forget to mention You.  And You only.
Isaiah 42:8
, Galatians 1:10
Maybe We forgot that Master Custodian Jesus is whispering in our ears “get to KNOW me, I want to be your best friend”.  And we haven’t taken HIS ADVICE.

Maybe We forgot that Master Custodian Jesus has the ALL of the KEYS.

He can open anything that is locked up.  To every door in our life.

Not just the door to salvation. The door of Hope.  The door of Joy.

The door of Peace.  The door of Faith. The door of Transformation.

Jesus paints over your well-marked walls of despair with His blood.

Jesus stops the incessant sound of dripping doubts about your future.

Jesus scoops up the vomit you spill over your fearful and innumerable circumstances and wipes it clean.

Don’t be like pretty much everyone else and ignore Him.

Ask Him questions. He wants you to know what makes Him tick.

Take pride in His word.  Read it and do it.  Psalm 119:105

Because you are His boots on the ground.

He will give you access to His cart, filled with His tools to use to heal others.

Help Him, by His power, to replace the burned out bulbs of destiny in others lives.

Help Him, by His strength, to tighten the screws on others broken dreams.

He said you could.  And that you would do even more than He did.  John 14:12
His Holy Spirit fuels your fire.

He will make sure you know WHERE TO GO and WHAT TO DO.

And you will be a Custodian of His Revelation. Ephesians 1:17

You will see ultimate transformation.  Every day.

PRAISE:  Our business is in the process of being “resurrected”!  We have gotten in some new projects.  We specifically asked God to “surprise” us.  And He has!

And He gets the glory!!!

PRAY:  Please continue to pray for our staff that I call “the band of survivors”.  We need to have these new projects be grand slams.   We need to be efficient and productive meeting all deadlines.

PRAY:  As we start to get new projects in, that God would provide us with the right new hires to do the work.

PRAY: Craig will be flying to New York and Washington, DC next week to meet with some of these new clients.  Pray for successful meetings.

PRAY:  While Craig is in New York, next Friday he will be on FOX Business News live.  He will be on the Neil Cavuto show.  He is looking forward to meeting him in person, as well as his staff.  Pray for divine appointments.

Better than first

By shellyhuey | Uncategorized , Victory Update

About three weeks ago I had foot surgery.  It was something that I had PUT OFF FOR YEARS.  The most important part of my big toe just wouldn’t MOVE.  It was kinda stuck. It was so painful.  I couldn’t walk or run without noticing it. But I just kept trying to deal with it in my own way, even though it wouldn’t go away.  Prior to my surgery, I accidentally dropped a big, heavy window on my foot.  The ANNOYING and AGGRAVATING pain immediately turned into desperation.  Broken, I needed a surgeon.  Thankfully,  I found the best.  The surgery was incredible.  Relatively no pain.  When we flew to Washington, DC last week, I was a wondering how I would NAVIGATE the airport.  When we checked in, the ticketing  agent saw I needed help and asked if I wanted a wheelchair.  I was SURPRISED and relieved.  I know how the airport is.  Long lines and lots of standing.  Something I can’t do.  I have never been in a wheelchair at the airport.  I awkwardly plopped myself in.  I wasn’t sure WHAT TO EXPECT.  We went down long halls and corridors to access elevators that I didn’t EVEN KNOW EXISTED.  I had no idea where I was being taken.  Kinda scary but kinda cool. We bypassed incredibly long SECURITY lines.  At the gate, we were the first on the plane.  In front of First Class.  And we were given the best seats, with the easiest access.   What Incredible Favor.

Forgive us God, that We The Church have PUT OFF FOR YEARS our desperate cries for Your Intervention in our lives, and we The Church do not allow the Holy Spirit to MOVE us.  So we stay kinda stuck.

Forgive us God, that We The Church really don’t WALK or even RUN with Jesus, because we keep trying to deal with the same ANNOYING and AGGRAVATING sin in our own way and it just won’t go away.

Forgive us God, that We The Church act SURPRISED when someone suggests to us that we need help.  And we refuse to humbly sit down, be relieved and allow Jesus to NAVIGATE our lives.

Maybe something big and heavy got dropped on you recently.  And your somewhat annoying and aggravating life just became desperate.

Maybe God is calling you to do something that you are not sure WHAT TO EXPECT.  Something you didn’t EVEN KNOW EXISTED.  Something You can’t do.  Luke 1:37

And you have no idea where you are being taken.  Jeremiah 29:11

Kinda scary but kinda cool.

So awkwardly plop yourself into that wheelchair called life.  And let Jesus be your guide.  He is guiding you down the long halls of heartache.  And the corridors of confusion.  Proverbs 3:5,6

He bypasses mans incredibly long lines of false SECURITY like savings, stocks, 401Ks and investments.  And gets you to the front of His security line.  It’s called grace.  And you get to live in it.

Best yet, He has access to the elevators of hope, joy and peace.  And He anxiously waits for you to allow Him to go in the elevator with you.  You just need to ask.

Better than First Class, Jesus seats you next to Him.  It’s the best seat.   With the easiest access to the Throne of Our Almighty God.

He knows exactly where He is taking you.  You just need to hold on.

What Incredible Favor.

PRAISE:  National Day of Prayer was amazing.  Each event we attended, God was glorified.  It was so humbling to be in that place and positioned to petition Jesus to intercede for our country.  Every speaker and musician was truly used by the Lord.  Over 42,000 prayer events took place nationwide on Thursday.  We anticipate revival in not just individuals, but Pastors, Churches, Communities, Businesses, Media, Schools and our Government.

PRAISE:  Greg Laurie was under vicious attack by a group declaring him to be anti-gay.  They were demanding that he be removed as the keynote speaker at the Pentagon.  Praise God, they did not prevail. Greg stood firm and held to Biblical Truth.

PRAYER:  We are witnessing a move of the Holy Spirit at several local churches.  This is a direct result of corporate prayer.  One church body has been praying for months for the pastor.  And we have seen altar calls in the last five weeks, where over 500 people have become born again Christians.  Another church body has recently had 24/7 prayer for this past week.  Individual members signed up to take an hour to pray.  The church sanctuary remained open for the body to come and pray around the clock.  We are expecting this church to break out in salvation’s and revival as well.  Pray that more pastors and their churches grab this MOVE of the Holy Spirit and allow Him to wreak havoc on the kingdom of darkness.

PRAYER:  Our business is under attack and we need quick recovery.

PRAYER:  We had several opportunities with potential prospects in Washington, DC.  These groups are Christian organizations that would benefit from marketing.  Pray these become clients, as we would love to facilitate the furthering of God’s Kingdom.

PRAYER:  That Christians here recognize the urgent need to prepare to be the persecuted church.
